Passer montanus
Passer montanus, commonly referred to as the Eurasian Tree Sparrow, is a small bird species belonging to the family Passeridae. In the Comunidad Valenciana, it is often known by its local name, Gorrión molinero.
This species is characterized by its compact body, short legs, and stout bill. The Eurasian Tree Sparrow measures about 12-14 centimeters in length, and its plumage features a distinctive chestnut-brown crown, black markings on the cheeks, and a small black bib on the throat.
- Habitat: The Eurasian Tree Sparrow is adaptable and can be found in a variety of habitats, including woodlands, farmlands, and urban areas. They are frequently seen in parks and gardens within the Comunidad Valenciana.
